Midtown Bay and the wider Guoco Midtown development have been covered in the Singapore press since before construction began. The three reports below are reproduced as they were published, in The Straits Times, and are the pieces that carry facts about the site and the precinct rather than sales copy about them.

All three date from 2019, when the project was launching and Beach Road was at the start of its redevelopment. They are worth reading as a record of what was intended at that point rather than as a description of the development today. A good deal has happened since: the tower obtained its Temporary Occupation Permit in June 2024 and is complete and occupied, Guoco Midtown’s office tower, retail spaces and public realm have opened, and the North South Corridor timeline has moved on from what was reported at the time. Where to Find the Current Position

Press coverage dates. The development does not stop moving after it is written about, and a 2019 report describing what a site will become is not a source for what it is now. Everything on this site outside this page is maintained against the developer’s own current documents and the public registers.
